When I get older, I will be stronger

Shohei_Hakuchi-Sushi__Small

The impeccably rendered ball-point pen illustrations of Shohei Otomo, aka Hakuchi, play with themes of Japanese history, stereotypes and nationalism. The way he contrasts large dark and white shapes with fine detail reminds me of highly talented, yet largely forgotten illustrator Vint Lawrence. Shown above: おSUSHIさん.

Why is she biting on a bit like a horse? What’s that supposed to mean?

I think the point is that they are all blinded and being led by history and national identity. Like a hose or maybe they are all in bondage to the ideas.

its not a horse thing its a bdsm thing. That’s why its about bondage. Anyway the illustration is fantastic.
